Positions Available:

Concrete Finisher

Job Requirements

  • Setting forms that hold the concrete in place.
  • Cleaning and inspecting surfaces for pouring issues.
  • Directing the casting of the concrete with the truck driver.
  • Pouring, smoothing, and leveling concrete using a rake, trowel, float, and screed. This includes handheld tools and power tool versions.
  • Monitoring the effects of the weather on the curing process.
  • Applying sealing and hardening components.
  • Safely operating power vibrator to ensure the concrete is compacted.
  • Molding and constructing expansion joints using joiners and edging tools.
  • Polishing surface using a power surfacing machine.

Skills & Education

  • High school diploma.
  • Minimum 2 years work experience as a concrete laborer or mason.
  • Ability to stand for long periods.
  • Ability to lift heavy materials and work long hours.
  • Ability to kneel for long periods.
  • Knowledge of hand-held and power tools including power vibrators, polishers, cutting saws, and edging tools.
  • Able to work shifts, at night and on public holidays as required.
  • PAY will be determined based on experience!

Laborer

Job Requirements

  • Operate and care for construction equipment and machines.
  • Help equipment operators, carpenters, and other skilled labor when necessary.
  • Prep construction sites by cleaning obstacles and hazards.
  • Load or unload construction materials.
  • Put together and take apart temporary structures, such as scaffolding.
  • Remove, fill, or compact earth.
  • Follow instructions from supervisors.
  • Assist craft workers.
  • Ready to learn from on-the-job training when necessary.
  • Perform site clean-up.
  • PAY will be determined by experience!

Skills & Education

  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma.
  • Ability to do physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks.
  • Ability to work in all weather.
  • Workers must be punctual and reliable.
  • Must have experience as a general laborer in the construction industry.

Construction Superintendent

Job Requirements

  • Direct day-to-day on-site supervision of field labor force including assistants, foremen, subcontractors, and other construction related personnel
  • Assist Sr. Project Manager in the supervision and responsibility of the total construction effort in accordance with design, budget, quality, and schedule
  • Assist with providing technical assistance (interpretation of drawings, recommendation of construction methods and equipment, etc.) as required, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection
  • Inspection of Contractor or (Sub)Contract operations to ensure compliance with Contract
  • Review and approve Trade Contractor Payment Applications with Project Manager
  • Maintain good relationships with internal and external clients, including representatives of Owner, Architect/Engineer and Partners
  • Develop and maintain site logistics plan, in coordination with Sr. Project Manager
  • Development of Quality Assurance & Controls; Conduct quality inspections
  • Coordinate site testing and inspection efforts
  • Monitor costs, including labor time and material
  • Communicate and enforce Safety and Health Management Program
  • Demonstrate commitment to an Injury-Free Environment through own actions and mentoring others
  • Manage schedules, including preparation of detailed short-term schedules and ensuring all activities take place on or ahead of scheduled dates
  • Prepare and submit Superintendent’s Daily Reports to document weather and field conditions, trade and subcontractor manpower, progress and conditions impacting the project, as well as Accident Reports, Quality Reports, etc.
  • Conduct subcontractor meetings
  • Attend and participate in project meetings
  • Providing training and education to support field superintendents and engineers.

Job Skills and Abilities

Project Manager

Job description

  • Experience in Construction Management & Design Build Process
  • Oversee multiple commercial construction projects from start to finish
  • Develop project schedules, plan materials, and purchase orders, ensuring work is within outlined project scope
  • Responsible for qualifying sub-contractor estimates and bids, performing project buyouts, and managing subcontractors’ progress against plan
  • Oversee the construction schedule, budget, and ensure project is completed within deadline and budget
  • Perform a key role in project planning, budgeting, and identification of resources needed
  • Project accounting functions including managing the budget, tracking of team expenses, and minimizing exposure and risk in the project
  • Ensure all construction activities move according to pre-determined schedule
  • Devise the project work plans and make revisions as and when needs arises
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with the sub-Contractors responsible for completing various phases of the project
  • Periodic inspection of assigned construction sites
  • Ensure project documents are complete and accurate
  • Managing client and consultant meetings, and client approval of progress payments and variations
  • Proactively managing all issues in relation to site occupational health and safety to minimize accidents and lost time
  • Preparing any necessary work flow schedules and monitoring same to enable meeting of reporting deadlines
  • Informing the Management team on the progress of work
  • Develop strategies to promote efficient and cost effective work practices and monitor and analyze work practices and cost factors within the project team
  • Experience with ProCore and Viewpoint’s Spectrum is preferred
  • Experience with medical construction is preferred
